CASINO CREDIT
This is not to suggest that a player shouldn't try to get credit at a casino. I think it's advisable in many situations, especially if the player is going to do some serious gambling, but this credit line must be used as carefully as possible. It must be used for the player's, not the casino's advantage.
I'm super careful about explaining the use of casino credit because. I've watched seen too many players misuse their credit and really hurt themselves. I've seen them sign markers when drunk or in the middle of a horrible losing streak. I've watched them literally ruin their lives right in front of my eyes.
If it were up to me, I'd ban alcoholic beverages in all gambling casinos. I'd fine any casino executive who permitted a player to sign a marker for credit when drunk, but I'm not on any gaming commission. Since I'm not a gaming commissioner, players can use alcohol when gambling, and this a deadly combination.
When you have credit, don't misuse it. Don't gamble when drunk and don't sign anything in a casino when drunk. The wisdom of this advice is obvious, but easy to forget or ignore when a player is at a craps table with six drinks under his belt and losing big money.
So if you have credit, I repeat and can't repeat enough, don't drink. If you gamble, don't drink. The best thing to do if you feel that you're losing control is to get away from the table as fast as possible and sleep it off. Keeping in mind some of the dangers of credit, we'll discuss how a player can obtain credit and use it to best advantage.
